The online Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program from Eastern Washington University is designed to deepen your expertise and prepare you for advanced roles in professional accounting firms and other businesses that require detailed technical knowledge. In addition to licensure preparation, this applied accounting master’s program empowers you to move your career forward with an in-depth study of accounting law, auditing, taxation and more.

In this online program, you will learn to:
- demonstrate leadership and managerial decision-making capabilities needed for advancement in public/private/not-for-profit accounting;
- gain a practical understanding of globalization trends in accounting and worldwide accounting diversity;
- understand and apply ethical principles and professional standards as well as identify potential violations and propose improvements;
- develop a fundamental understanding of business law for the business law section of the CPA Exam and, more importantly, to be useful in corporate and individual lifelong dealings with contracts and law;
- acquire advanced auditing skills for accumulating, evaluating and reporting evidence;
- learn rules on the taxation of C corporations and pass-through entities;
- use online database and hard copy research in order to prepare a tax research memorandum to a hypothetical client undergoing a corporate tax audit with the IRS.

The admission process for the online MPAcc program is streamlined to help you get started right away. Plus, the GMAT is waived for qualified applicants.
Admission Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Professional resume
Online MPAcc Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.*
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded postsecondary credit hours** OR:
- Applicants with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 90-quarter or 60-semester-graded credits of postsecondary academic coursework AND at least three years of professional work experience as verified by a professional resume will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Applicants with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 90-quarter or 60-semester-graded credits of postsecondary academic coursework AND an index score (GPA x 200 + GMAT) ≥ 1050 will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Applicants with a GPA lower than 2.5 may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must have an index score of (GPA x 200 + GMAT) ≥ 1050
- Official transcript from the college/university where degree was earned

Document Submission Information
Order your official, electronic transcripts from the degree-granting institution where you earned your highest degree (bachelor’s or master’s) and have them sent to Eastern Washington University.
- Most EWU graduate programs only require one transcript. Please submit a transcript from your degree-granting institution. This transcript should include the final two years of your degree completion. If it does not, please submit transcripts to cover your final two years of earned credits.
- Please note that transcripts ordered by main may take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

The online Master of Professional Accounting curriculum is comprised of nine courses (36 credit hours), including 20 credit hours of core courses and 16 credit hours of electives. Applicants who do not hold an undergraduate accounting degree and have not completed equivalent coursework may be required to take up to five additional prerequisite courses (20 credit hours).
Foundation courses provide the opportunity to gain additional knowledge needed to be successful in subsequent coursework.
- Students with a bachelor's degree in accounting may not be required to take MPAcc foundation coursework.
- Students who do not hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting but have completed significant equivalent coursework may not be required to take MPAcc foundation coursework. These applicants will be assessed on a course-by-course basis.
