Prepare for the CPA Exam while also gaining the advanced administrative skills needed to progress more quickly toward management roles in the online Master of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting Dual Degree program from Eastern Washington University. This unique online dual-degree program enables you to earn a minimum of 28 credit hours toward sitting for the CPA exam and potentially more, depending on your choice of MBA electives. As a student, you will earn two valuable degrees simultaneously while substantially reducing your cost and time to completion. You can tailor this flexible online program to your career goals with your choice of MBA and MPAcc electives, including an optional internship.
EWU is one of the only schools in Washington to offer an MBA program 100 percent online, and the GMAT is waived for many applicants.

As a student in this online dual-degree program, you will connect with peers and work with our experienced faculty to:
- develop leadership and managerial decision-making capabilities;
- read, interpret and compare financial statements and acquire an understanding of cash flow, accounts on a company's balance sheet and income statements, basic profitability and risk analysis issues;
- understand financial and investment management in the international arena, examine international accounting issues, and learn to make strategic business decisions in the multinational environment;
- comprehend advanced cost accounting, including analyzing and managing costs and identifying opportunities for business process improvement and performance measurement;
- understand and apply ethical principles and professional standards as well as identify potential violations and propose improvements;
- develop a fundamental understanding of business law;
- learn rules on the taxation of C corporations and pass-through entities.

Admission Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Professional resume
Online MBA/MPAcc Dual Degree Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- If the bachelor’s degree is not in accounting, the applicant will be required to demonstrate significant equivalent undergraduate coursework in accounting* OR complete additional accounting pre-requisite courses
- If the bachelor’s degree is not in business, the applicant will be required to demonstrate significant equivalent undergraduate coursework in business** OR complete additional MBA pre-requisite courses
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded postsecondary credit hours** OR:
- Applicants with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded credits of postsecondary academic coursework AND at least three years of professional work experience as verified by a professional resume will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Applicants with a GPA of at least 2.5 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded credits of postsecondary academic coursework AND an index score (GPA x 200 + GMAT) ≥ 1050 will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Applicants with a GPA lower than 2.5 may considered on a case-by-case basis and must have an index score of (GPA x 200 + GMAT) ≥ 1050
- Official transcript from the college/university where degree was earned

*Applicants who do not hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting should have completed significant equivalent undergraduate coursework in accounting, such as:
- Intermediate Accounting I and II
- Cost Accounting I
- Auditing I
- Federal Income Tax I
**Applicants who do not hold a bachelor’s degree in business should have completed equivalent undergraduate coursework in:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Quantitative Analysis
Additional foundation courses are available for applicants who have not completed these subjects. Foundation requirements will be assessed on a course-by-course basis.

Document Submission Information
Order your official, electronic transcripts from the degree-granting institution where you earned your highest degree (bachelor’s or master’s) and have them sent to Eastern Washington University.
- Most EWU graduate programs only require one transcript. Please submit a transcript from your degree-granting institution. This transcript should include the final two years of your degree completion. If it does not, please submit transcripts to cover your final two years of earned credits.
- Please note that transcripts ordered by main may take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

See what you’ll learn in your online MBA and MPAcc Dual Degree program at EWU
The online MBA and MPAcc Dual Degree curriculum is comprised of 16 courses (64 credit hours), including 24 credit hours of MBA core courses, 12 credit hours of MPAcc core courses, 12 credit hours of MBA electives, and 16 credit hours of MPAcc electives. If you don't have a business or accounting undergraduate degree, you will be required to take additional credit hours of foundation courses.
Foundation courses provide the opportunity to gain additional knowledge needed to be successful in subsequent coursework.
- Students with a bachelor's degree in business from an accredited college or university may not be required to take foundation coursework.
- Students with a non-business bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university will be required to take foundation coursework unless they are able to show competency in the required foundation areas, based on previous academic coursework. Required foundations will be assessed on a course-by-course basis.
- BADM 502 can also be satisfied with Ivy equivalent courses. Contact MBA Advisor for details.
Foundation courses provide the opportunity to gain additional knowledge needed to be successful in subsequent coursework.
- Students with a bachelor's degree in accounting may not be required to take MPAcc foundation coursework.
- Students who do not hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting but have completed significant equivalent coursework may not be required to take MPAcc foundation coursework. These applicants will be assessed on a course-by-course basis.
