Affordable Online Master of Education Programs

There are a number of factors to consider when you decide to pursue an advanced degree to further your career. Working professionals have to juggle the requirements of a full-time job along with personal responsibilities. An online program can provide the flexibility you need to fit the rigors of a master’s program into an already busy life.

According to Sallie Mae, the average cost of a master’s degree is nearly $25,000. Online programs are less expensive to manage than programs on campus. That is why Eastern Washington University is able to offer six different online Master of Education programs at a tuition cost of just $12,900~@~Sor about half the national average. The only additional fee is a $75 application fee.

Another study of online college students found that the mean price per credit hour for graduate studies was $615 per credit hour, or $30,135 for a 49-hour program. At less than $264 per credit hour, or $12,900, EWU’s programs compare quite well for affordability. One of the most significant financial considerations in pursuing an online master’s degree is that it allows students to continue working at their full-time jobs while completing their studies. In addition, distance learners don’t have to pay for room and board or commuting.

Sallie Mae’s research showed that more students choose a school based on quality or convenience rather than cost, but 77 percent borrow money to complete grad school. So when students can enroll in a fully accredited, flexible yet affordable online master’s program, their overall debt is much lower.
